March Madness: Double Trouble featuring Ania Upstill & Rachel Resnik
Thursday March 16th at 8:30pm at Pine Box Rock Shop
Double the clowns, double the trouble! Clown Gym presents Ania Upstill and Rachel Resnik in a double bill benefiting the Clown Cohort.
TRANSHUMANCE: Award-winning clown Ania Upstill playfully explores what it means to be a trans human in this surreal journey across the landscape of gender.
POPPED OUT: Rachel Resnik performs some very normal and straight forward stand-up comedy and nothing else. With a little help from two friends who are very near and dear to her heart. Literally.
March Madness: Double Trouble is a fundraiser for the Clown Cohort, a year-long mentorship program for aspiring clown teachers that provides skills, coaching, and confidence to experienced and developing teachers, and to strengthen our community by growing and diversifying the roster of clown teachers.
All ticket proceeds will support the program, and we’ll have a raffle and auction on the night (cash or Venmo). Buy a Chest Pass ticket for reserved VIP seating and the sweet, sweet joy of knowing you’re helping clowns thrive.
Clown Gym’s mission is to build community, spread joy, and support artists as they embrace their humor, beauty, frailty, skill, intelligence, passion, and dreams. We do this through affordable high-quality training, teacher mentorship programming, new work development, productions, and community events focusing on clown and physical comedy. We work to create an inclusive and welcoming space for folks to train, connect, and perform, in addition to actively producing programming that aims to diversify the clown community. Clown Gym strives to reduce and eliminate systems of oppression within training so that every clown can thrive to their fullest potential.
A weekly, then monthly, variety show hosted on Zoom during the COVID-19 Pandemic featuring innovative comedy performances, live music, intermission dance parties, community announcements, and a whole lot of heart.
